1946 Redsox (7) hang on to beat the 1924 Senators (10) in offensive showdown, 8 games to 6

Eight times a team scored double digits in these high scoring games.  Walter Johnson however was able to hold the Redsox to under 2 ER per game while they scored 8.5 runs in the other games.  Johnny Pesky with a few huge games early on going 4 for 5 and 5 for 6 and collectively their offense just overpowered the Senators offense.

2. Senators-8 RedSox-5 MVP-Joe Judge 3 RBI's.  Down 5 to 0 after 8, Washington scores 8 in the 9th.
3. RedSox-13 Senators-3 MVP-Johnny Peskey goes 4 for 5 with 4 RBIs
4. RedSox-13 Senators-7 MVP-Johnny Peskey goes 5 for 6 with 3 RBIs
5. Senators-16 Redsox-12 MVP-Sam Rice 2 for 4 with 4 runs and 4 RBIs
6. Senators-4 RedSox-0 MVP-Walter Johnson tosses 5 hit shutout.
7. Senators-13 RedSox-8 MVP-Ossie Bluege goes 4 for 6 with 3 RBIs
8. RedSox-10 Senators-9 MVP-Pinky Higgins goes 2 for 4 with GW RBI in bottom of 9th. Pesky with 4 RBIs
9. RedSox-12 Senators-10 MVP-Dom Dimaggio goes 4 for 4 with 3 RBIs
10. Senators-14 RedSox-9 MVP-Goose Goslin goes 4 for 6 with 6 RBIs

13. RedSox-7 Senators-5 MVP-Bobby Doerr goes 2 for 3 with 3 RBI's including walkoff HR

Series MVP- Walter Johnson - In a losing effort 8 games to 6, his pitching kept Washington in it.  Redsox scored 5 total runs in the 3 games he pitched but scored 95 runs in the other 11 games.
