(8) 1910 Philly - 8 games to (9) 1916 Redsox - 2 games

In the first series, the 8th seeded 1910 Philadelphia A's beat the 1916 Boston Redsox 8 games to 2.  This one wasn't even close.  After the series was tied 2 to 2, Philly rattled off 6 straight wins, lead by series MVP Harry Krouse.  Him and Jack Coombs both got 2 wins.  On the batting side, Eddie Collins got double digit hits in 3 of the games.

1. Philly-4 Boston - 2  MVP - Jack Coombs - He pitched 8 innings and gave up 2 runs.
2. Boston-3 Philly-0  MVP-Dutch Leonard - Tosses a 7 hit shutout. Tilly Walker goes 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's.
3. Philly-6 Boston-4  MVP-Eddie Collins - He goes 3 for 3 with 3 RBI's.  Ernie Shore and Hary Davis also get 3 hits.
4. Boston-3 Philly-2 MVP- Carl Mays - Pitches 8 innings with 1 run for the win.  Boston scores 3 in the top of the 9th to win the game.
5. Philly-3 Boston-1 MVP-Harry Krouse - 6 IP 1 ER for the win.
6.  Philly-5 Boston-3 MVP-Jack Coombs- 8 IP 2 ER for the win . Jack Coombs and Rube Oldring goes 3 for 3.
7. Philly-5 Boston-1 MVP-Cy Morgan 7 IP 1 ER for the win.  Eddie Collins goes 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's.
8. Philly-7 Boston-2 MVP-Eddie Plank 8 IP 1 ER for the win.  Danny Murohy 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's.
9. Philly-4 Boston-3 12 Innings  MVP - Ben Houser drives in winning run in bottom of the 12th.
10. Philly-7 Boston-1 MVP-Harry Krouse 7 IP 0 ER for the win.  Eddie Collins and Ribe Oldring go 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's each.
